Help me give my students a reason to WANT to come to class! Bean bag chairs provides a more comfortable class experience beyond the traditional setting. Additionally, the mobile whiteboard will help with differentiating small group.

I serve an outstanding group of students that each make being a 7th grade teacher worth while. 100% of my students are African American and considered low-income. Though my students are at a disadvantage economically, they are certainly at an advantage intellectually. I am lucky enough to serve students from ALL walks of life with ALL types of abilities. Many of my students are apart of the Gifted and Talented pool and others are about of the Special Education Department. Each of my students bring something special to my classroom that would make the class feel incomplete without him/her.
My students have become much stronger in mathematics this school year with absolutely no resources to aid their academics.
This speaks volumes. Viewing their standardized testing data thus far, the growth that we have seen is simply astonishing. I am certain that if my students had access to the right resources and were exposed to the right opportunities, their successes would see higher heights.
My students have been vocal about their classroom environment. They do not like the desks! I have the privilege of educating students from all walks of life, including those with ADHD. The latter group of students tend to walk away from their desks all class period and/or just don't feel comfortable in a desk in general. One day, I decided to survey my students after hearing their complaints about the size of the room and how we can make things more comfortable. They unanimously voted on new chairs! I pondered upon their complaints and came up with a solution.....BEAN BAGS!
Bean bags in replacement of traditional chairs/desks will allow my students to feel that their voices have been heard and they can make a difference.
Often times, middle schoolers are overlooked when they voice their opinions. NOT THIS TIME! I want my students to WANT to come into my class and know that my classroom is a sanctuary where they can relax and solely focus on learning. The lack of space in my class room is extremely distracting and discomforting to my students. It's a new day and age and traditional classrooms are a detriment to our student's learning.
Aside from the classroom setting, the lack of whiteboard space inside of my "math classroom" is slightly ineffective. In most cases, I have students that need 101 assistance. A mobile whiteboard will allow me to assist those students discretely without distracting the entire class. The latter also affords struggling learners with a more personal learning experience.
