My Students

My students are college-bound juniors and seniors who are taking a College Algebra and Trigonometry course for both high school and college credit. This is the first year that we have offered these two courses as dual-credit courses and I am hoping that we can build such a strong, positive experience for these young adults that we will be grow our numbers in subsequent years.

Many of these students are from low-income homes and are going to be first-generation college students; I want to give them a leg up and help them be successful in Algebra and Trig.

These students have already demonstrated their academic capability based on their ACT math subsection scores.

My Project

The TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculators are needed for my students to learn how to use the calculator that is required by more colleges than any other. One of the greatest thing about these calculators is that they are fully programmable and provide students with all the technology needed in math and science courses--even for statistics classes, including confidence intervals and all the hypothesis tests.

Best of all the calculators are completely rechargeable and will not ever require costly batteries--a huge deal to public school math departments!
