Help me give my students notebook and markers to keep an organized daily language journal

My students are amazing, marvelous, and challenging on many levels. They come to school excited, eager to experience an exciting lesson. I often refer to them jokingly as “challenging customers” that refuse to accept second best. As I try my best to provide excellent customer service to my clientele, I find that it is never enough to just teach.
It is a journey to discover how best to serve every single one of my students and get them ready for college and for life, and I am enjoying the ride.
Our school is a Title I school in Atlanta where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success. As I observe them interact with one another, enthused about a lesson, I regain my conviction that a future is possible and achievable for all my students.
In our world language classroom, we are focused on communication and all activities reflect the communicative approach. Our students see us barely every other day and that makes progress daunting. Our students with special needs at times need extra support to keep structures organized.
We've found that using a notebook helps keep everything organized and offers clarity for study time.
We noticed that the few students that have notebooks are more efficient than those without. And it makes sense as they bring the notebooks to the classroom and are able to record vocabulary lists and classroom handouts. Those materials help them study for a test and beyond that make them more proficient in the language.
Our overall goal in the World Languages Department is to help the emergence of multicultural learners. We know we will be successful with the notebooks.
