I need Rosetta Stone so that I can connect with ALL students in my building. This skill will be used year after year, to ensure all students love their learning!
I have a wonderful classroom full of wonderful students. I dream with them, laugh with them, cry with them, and even sing with them! We have a special bond that is truly unique to elementary teachers. It isn't really the items or curriculum within my classroom that makes it so successful, though as we progress, those items are detrimental. Rather, it is the time and effort we put in to caring for and getting to know one another.
What makes my classroom so special is the sincere and unbelievable bond we all share.
No one is ever left behind. My students give 110%, 100% of the time. They deserve me at my very best, and I promise to give them that. I don't want anyone to miss out on that stability, love, and kindness for one another, so I will do whatever it takes to meet each and every one of their fascinations and curiosities.
I love to learn, but I learned to love it due to teachers who encouraged, inspired, and pushed me to be my best. What those amazing teachers also carried, was their own love of learning that showed each day. I aspire to be like them.
My Project
I have students each year that I struggle to connect with due to my language barrier. I want to bond with each and every student, and I often fail to do so to the full extent with my ELL and NEP students. They deserve 100% of me too, and I truly WANT to know them. I want to hear their stories and learn with them. I want them to love learning, and language, as I do. I believe that language is a gift, and having Rosetta Stone to help me learn a language would mean more than just knowing Spanish. It would be connecting with families, siblings, culture, and the community. It would mean shared moments, laughs, and success. I want to be my best, and I know I can overcome this barrier, though I am a little nervous to try. But, I am determined like my students, and I won't let them down.
