My Students

I teach Spanish to a diverse group of students in an urban, public school environment. My students are excited to learn and use Spanish both inside and outside of the classroom. Many of my students come to class without any prior experience with learning Spanish.

My students love using Spanish and growing in the abilities to listen, speak, read, and write the language.

They love being able to speak to each other in Spanish. They love hearing songs in Spanish.

My Project

My students often struggle to see how important it is to know another language. When my students learn Spanish they are able to connect with other people, cultures, and customs and better understand their own.

These translators will open my students' eyes to the fact that you don't have to understand every word someone says to get the overall idea of what they are trying to say.

My students will experience first hand the magic of being able to understand someone now that you couldn't before. My students and I will use these translators to understand and get meaning from authentic Spanish texts, websites, songs, and people.
