The students in my classroom are special needs. Most of our children are 3,4,5, and 6 years old. Most of them are developmental delayed and environmentally deprived. We also have children with physical disabilities. Our school is a low income school and almost all of the students in our class get free or reduced lunch. When we have outside play the children in wheel chairs and some with motor problems do not have any way to interact with the other students and can not play on the same toys as the others. It would be great to have a table on our playground that these children could sit around and play games. Most of the time when we are outside there is a number of children that will sit on the ground and watch the others play because of their physical problems and they can't keep up with other children. We take materials and toys outside that they can play with but it would be much better if they had somewhere they could sit and have access to materials they could use. The table would be used for wheelchair students to play games and activities as well as others so they won't feel left out while we are outside. It would also be great to have a table outside to do outside projects on. It would be used for many years and used by four other k classrooms and two other special needs classrooms at our school. Please consider funding this project for our special kids. Thank you for reading my proposal.
