This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is located at South Indian Creek Drive, off the memorial drive in Stonemountain, GA. Most of our students are from nearby motels where they provide shelters for homeless families. As this tells so much about our school, I service students with special needs in a interrelated setting. My students are emotionally very weak as they don't have any opportunity to see success in their efforts. They lost interest in learning. As a passionate teacher for these children, I am trying to incorporate technology in my instruction which they love to handle when they learn. As I have only one student desktop at my class, I couldn't actively engage all my students without behavior issues as everyone struggles to earn their technology time. Most of my students only touch technology devices only at school. In this competitive world, I want my students to be knowledgeable in all sources and develop their self esteem to try until they show success.
My Project
The Samsung Tablets are going to help my students to practice Lexia learning program, IXL, galaxy education and lumos learning to practice the GA milestones test items to keep them updated with their peers. This is the only way for them to utilize maximum practice in school as they don't have any technological devices at home. Their academic functioning skills and self esteem skills will grow. These materials will also be used as a reward to motivate students with emotional behavior disabled to exhibit appropriate behaviors in school. This will also be used to compete against their partners to enhance their skills.
