This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Coaching my school's mountain bike team is a passion of mine! We ride 3 to 4 days per week with our team and often travel up to18 miles per ride. Making sure our riders have proper nutrition is an important yet difficult part of coaching. When a rider starts bonking, or has used up stored calories and feels lightheaded or sick, they need instant energy to keep going when we are far from home out on trails. These ready to go tabs and gels need to be replaced quite often.

Having Jelly Belly Sports Beans and Clif Tabs for our coaches to carry in their packs to give to riders in case they start bonking would be a great tool for us!

We also get lots of puncture holes in our tires and are constantly buying Slime to plug them. This grant would give us a gallon of Slime a to last us a season or more of plugging up tires!
