My students need the notebooks, markers, skeleton magnets, and animal encyclopedias in order to enhance their learning and better prepare them via 21st Century Skills.
My students need to know what it is like to enter the global world better prepared and ready to achieve success. Through your donations, they will be able to utilize the necessary materials in order to enhance critical thinking skills, small group interaction, and information literacy.
My students come from a low income background and the majority are on a reduced lunch program.
Most of their meals come from our school. My students want to be educated and have a strong desire to learn. They do not want to end up like their older siblings or parents/guardians. They want to make a name for themselves.
A lot of my students learn hands on. Most of them have not learned about human anatomy or do not have a strong science background.
My students need to be motivated consistently as well as learn new concepts in various ways. They are very diverse and have different learning styles. Please help them to better achieve academic success and be better citizens upon entering the global world!
My Project
The essential resources (skeleton, encyclopedia, markers, and notebooks) will better educate students. My students utilize Interactive Notebooks on a daily basis, because there are not enough textbooks to send home every night for them. Anything they put in the Interactive Notebook helps to better prepare them for quizzes, tests, or activities. Interactive Notebooks are necessary and needed for students to learn. The skeleton and encyclopedia will affect over 60 students (Anatomy and Biology). Students need information literacy in order to enhance his or her 21st Century Skills (small group learning, critical thinking, technology, etc.). These skills will better my students and prepare them for the global economy.
My students will be doing a "No Bones About It" activity as well as an "Evolutionary Speaking..." with the provided materials. They will work in groups and attempt to define origin and insertion of muscles based on bones as well as research information on evolution.
This project is extremely important not only to incorporate lessons effectively, but the provided materials will touch over 60 students and reach to the diverse learners.
Every student learns differently, and therefore, the essential materials will help tremendously! Please let my students be able to utilize his or her Interactive Notebook and develop the necessary skills for small group collaboration as well as literacy in order to achieve success in the global world!
