This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
John F. Kennedy stated that, "All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talent." In order to teach my students and provide them with their opportunity to grow and develop their talents, supplies are a necessary component.
Our elementary school is a Title I School and all of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
Our school is located in a low, socioeconomic area and more than half of our students are from low income households. Despite having some disadvantages, my students are at school and ready to learn everyday.
I want to be able to provide them with everything they need to become productive students and make important contributions in school and the world as productive citizens.
My Project
This time of the school year, most teachers are running out of supplies or have supplies that have been destroyed. This is especially true of things like markers, erasers and pencil pouches. Some of them are in bad shape and need to be replaced so that we can continue to work hard until the end of the school year.
My students use all of these supplies on a daily basis to help them complete guided learning activiities and independent learning activities.
The pencil pouches are used to store their markers, pencils, and erasers and help them know where to find these items quickly. They use markers and whiteboards daily, both for word work and math practice.
