My students need a book series to increase their motivation and love of reading. The Land of Stories series was personally requested by several of my students!
We have an amazing group of 4th graders who are in need of books for the classroom. I'm not talking about workbooks or curriculum; I am talking about books that will take them on far adventures, teach them what it means to have character, and books that ignite curiosity.

My students are from various backgrounds and ethnic makeup. We have 26 students ranging from ages 8 to 10. Most of my students come from low to mid income family homes, many on the free and reduced lunch program. Some of these students have personal libraries at home, other rely on my classroom and our school for books to read.
My Project
We are a school with a diverse background with varying reading interests. The series I have chosen will give all the students in my class a wonderful selection of books to choose from.

As a teacher nothing makes me happier than watching my students become invested in characters in a story. The excitement they show while reading is reason enough to provide them with additional resources as often as I can. I live for the moments when I ask my students to put their book away and they respond with a resounding "Noooo, I just got to the good part!"
