Help me give my students the best opportunity to learn science. Notebooks have helped my students become organized. They have a place where they can go to and find everything they need to be successful in class.
My students come to school with a lot on their minds. They come in hungry, tired and insecure about what the day will bring. School is a safe place for them.
School is where they learn social skills, learn right from wrong and learn that there are people out there who care for them.
All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Some of our students come to school at 7 am and stay until 6 pm. Even with all this baggage my students are the most caring, most loving and most helpful kids I know.
My Project
The district is stepping into the new NGSS units this year. We will be focused on physical (forces) science, Earth (Rocks) science and Life science. We are excited to accept the challenge of the NGSS, but really need a place to keep and organize it all!
What better way to keep this new knowledge, than to put it in new notebooks, displaying all their new skills, new vocabulary and new labs?
Notebooks are a great way to keep 6th graders focused and organized, both skills needed by students. Handouts, drawings, vocabulary words, definitions, notes, graphic organizers are all in one place, their notebooks!
