Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school and student population is special. At my school, students have the choice of being in the English or Dual Immersion track. Parents have a choice even though it's a Title I school. In my classroom, we learn Spanish 90% of the time and English 10% of the time. Some students speak only Spanish, some only English and a few are considered bilingual. As the years progress, they learn more English and less Spanish until they're learning 50% of the day in Spanish and 50% of the day in English.
My Project
With a nice and tidy class, my students will learn best. It is important to keep a clean and organized classroom in order for students to love their learning environment. With a nice centers management chart, my students will be able to easily access their reading center by looking at the images. In the classroom, I keep positive behavior by having students earn five stars and then getting a reward once they accomplish it. With the magnetic photo cards, my students will easily access their name and know how many more stars they need to earn a reward.
We are also learning Spanish in the classroom!
With the fun Spanish file game, students will learn their alphabet, sounds and high frequency words. Way to go students!
