This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The vision for AMHS is to create a nationally recognized school of excellence with students who excel and compete on all levels to be successful in a rapidly changing world by creating stability, significance, opportunities, and traditions.

The mission for AMHS is to engage students in active learning and service through instruction using the school and community as a context for developing understanding of human and environmental interactions while preparing leaders for involved citizenship in a changing world.

My Project

After daylight savings in October, the sun begins to set around 5:30 and normal practice ends at 6pm. We do not have our own practice field and in order to be able to compete with other programs, we would need a light source so that we can conduct a safe and effective practice. Last season we reserved buses from the county to be transported to a lighted football field so that we could have practice. However, on arrival there where others teams in the county that were already using the field, not to mention the added travel time it took to load the players and travel to the field. A generator would give us the resources to provide our own lighting at our homeschool.
