My students need 50 subscriptions to the classroom magazine TIME for Kids to access information about a variety of topics at their independent reading levels.
This project expired on December 12, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Imagine being given a magazine about all of the exciting current events happening around the world that you could READ!
That is the opportunity that could be provided to my students if they were given a subscription to TIME for Kids.
The majority of my students receive free or reduced price lunches, and their parents work incredibly hard to provide the basic necessities for them. Newspapers are not delivered to their doorsteps each morning. That does not mean that these students don't crave information; they want to know more about the people and events that shape their world.
By donating subscriptions to TIME for Kids, my students will have access to current events and influential people at reading levels that are accessible to them. We will be able to have meaningful conversations about what is happening in the world as it is happening!
Please give these kids access to their world in the way only TIME for Kids can.
They will have engaging text that will challenge their thinking and opportunities to have thoughtful conversations with their peers about the world around them at a level previously unavailable to them.
