New Year/New Gear

Help me give my students I added class motivators. I ordered a karaoke machine to encourage those who have hidden talents to share with the rest of the class. I ordered a set of board games for recess

My Students

Each is unique in his/her learning styles. They are still open to suggestion and not too set in their ways just yet. They are willing to apply rigor but they do need lots of opportunities. They care about each other even though they may put on a front as if it doesn't matter. Some enjoy expressing themselves through writing, others like kinesthetic learning. All of them claim to hate math and in math is where I hear the word "can't" the most. They are still open to suggestions that help them to develop a growth mindset but they really do need practice, practice, practice in developing one.

My Project

Board games will help kids stay busy during cold mornings or inside recess when kids are not allowed to go outside. A karaoke machine is there for kids to practice oral presentations and to encourage kids to share hidden talents with an audience of their peers.

Kids have lots of options to show what they know.

Markers and boards are used for a variety of informal assessments and to do group practice on. Headphones are for kids to use in any number of apps they use in the day that have verbal instructions or a read aloud feature.

I also purchased items for class parties to use as motivators and for positive reinforcement. Fraction tiles are used to help students practice anything from fractions, decimals, ratios and percents.
