Help me give my students more of the art supplies we use the most (crayons and mod podge) as well as replenish their mystery table prizes (fidget and squishy toys).
I am an art teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My school has a diverse population, with a strong Hispanic presence. Before me, they did not have an art teacher or art supplies and therefore lost a key component in improving learning through all academic areas.
Fine arts help to cultivate creativity, aid in problem-solving, boost critical thinking skills and can change the way a person views the world.
I want to create a safe environment where my students can use the arts to explore, learn, and grow. I want to build a more diverse and rigorous program so that I can share the wonders and benefits of art with my students.
My Project
With the new year, we start a new semester. This also includes some new classes that I am seeing for the first time this school year. I want to make sure they also get to start out their art class with nice new crayons and other materials that we tend to use a lot of!
Prizes for my mystery table are excellent motivation for positive behaviors.
At this point of the year, we are starting to run pretty low on them and your donation will help us restock our prize box!
