New Year, New Supplies

Help me give my students the opportunity to be creative through the use of construction paper and educational resources as well as LEGO sets that will incorporate STEM into our classroom.

My Students

My students are so eager to learn. As a first year teacher, I had certain hopes and dreams for what my students would be like, and they blew me away! Even with their masks, I can see their smile through their squinty eyes every morning when I greet them.

I want my classroom to be the place for my students to escape and feel welcomed and loved, despite and hardships that they face at home in their daily lives.

Because we are a Title I school, students don't typically come to school with supplies. Some of them come to school with empty backpacks, or no backpacks at all. Despite what is happening in the world, my students remain positive and are so adaptable and willing to learn in school, no matter what it takes.

My Project

My students thrive when using their creative brains to learn a concept. They love creating things using paper, scissors and glue. I will use these materials such as construction paper and create "craftivities" with my students that will benefit their learning in so many ways! In first grade, learning is learned well through the use of games, so educational games are a must-have! LEGO sets are a great way to incorporate STEM and motor skills through building, as well as social skills with peers.

In this new year, I want to give my students new materials for them to be creative and excel in the year of first grade!

Because we are in a new school year, there are some materials that need to be replaced. With new students coming into our classroom frequently, we are in need of new nametags and these will last is the rest of the school year, as well as new markers erasers, and pencils!
