I teach a great bunch of students who are very diverse. Many of my students come from homes where English is the second language. Some are struggling readers; others are gifted. I also have students in my class on the autism spectrum. We are a diverse bunch.
Despite the differences in my students, however, they have something in common: they all love to learn!
My wonderful kids work so hard day in and day out to learn reading, math, and other subjects.
I feel my students deserve the best of everything. They are a super bunch of kids.
My Project
At my school 6 out of 10 students are enrolled in a federal nutrition program and their families are classified as living below the poverty line.
The costs of stocking up with school supplies place a real burden on some families.
I like to have extras of the necessary supplies on hand to help families in need.
I am asking for extra backpacks, scissors, colored pencils and glue sticks for this purpose. These materials will all be used by our classroom community. Shared supplies make sure everyone in the classroom has what they need to be successful during the school day.
