My Project

Based on scientific research, children who learn how to play a musical instrument do better in reading and math, but most importantly they have better social skills. I want the students at my school to feel that they are important, can learn to work collaboratively and are able to share kindness with others that they will learn in my music class. Social-emotional learning will be achieved through by making beautiful music in my classroom.

Team building, music literacy, and building confidence will be my biggest focus this year when teaching my students how to play the soprano recorder.

Many of my students come from low-income families, so some are unable to purchase their own new recorder because of finances. Your donation would help my students to be able to proudly own, play, and practice their own instrument. Thank you for helping to provide this beautiful opportunity.
