My Project

Now that we are halfway through the 2023-2024 school year, I have gained a few new students, learned that there are some new needs, and a few of our supplies need replacing and replenishing (like our stock of Clorox wipes!).

The goal of this project is to obtain materials that will allow me to continue to adapt instruction for my students who are identified with special needs and to provide them with a cleaner classroom.

My students are unique in their learning styles and abilities. They are learning to be independent and critical thinkers, but need modifications in the way they are taught in order to be successful. In order to meet these needs, there are several materials that are frequently used. Laminating sheets, colored paper and velcro allow for me to adapt learning activities and worksheets so that students can reuse them and manipulate them. Playdoh is frequently used to support fine motor skills and to incorporate multisensory opportunities into learning activities. Funds to spend through Teachers Pay Teachers allows me access to alternative practice activities that I can use to create independent centers and tasks boxes that are on my students' cognitive and academic levels that can fit their learning styles to have continued practice of skills that have been taught through the curriculum in our classroom.
