This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a low-income, low-preforming school in the Southwest of Washington, DC. As a Title I school, our needs are high, but our funding is low. We lack the basic and necessary resources to meet the needs of our students. With half of our students multiple grade-levels behind in reading and math, small group intervention and support is an invaluable part of supporting students.
Although my students face many challenges and obstacles, they come to school each day with eagerness to learn and a determination to succeed.
As the Math Coach for School Year 2020-2021, I will support classroom teachers in providing all students with high quality instruction and differentiation. Each day I will be in all classrooms ensuring students are getting what they need, especially after the COVID-19 crisis.
My Project
Next year is going to look much different than years in the past. Students will be coming in needing consistency, love, and support more than ever. Many students have seen loss during this trying time and we want to welcome them into a friendly environment. This is why I am asking you to help us get new materials for all teachers and students for the upcoming school year!
Getting students off the screens and back into the classrooms safely, is our top priority!
