Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school everyday ready to learn! While their families are supportive and involved in their learning, they are unable to support our class financially. All of my students qualify for free lunch. Our classroom is bilingual. Students are mastering academic concepts in both their home language, Spanish and English. This makes it especially important that every moment of the day is filled not just with learning, but with a conversation! I want my students to question, observe and discuss at work and at play.
My Project
I am requesting new materials for the upcoming school year. Due to budget cuts we have limited access to new supplies. We do reuse, reduce and recycle with the materials currently have in the classroom, but students deserve to walk into a classroom filled with new crayons and sharp pencils with erasers to start their year off right.
Students take pride in taking care of their new materials.
They are excited to use the materials and do their best work. I teach students how to take care of their supplies. This leads to agency not just over their supplies but to their overall learning.
I am requesting classroom essential (crayons, pencils, glue, flair pen, scissors) so that students will be able to complete their classroom work.
