My students are enthusiastic, kind, and thoughtful children with a love for learning and exploration. In class, my students use collaboration and creativity to access new ideas and content. At our school, which is arts-integrated, we use arts strategies to teach all content areas, allowing our students to express themselves and learn the material in a variety of ways.
In our class, we focus on kindness, teamwork, and our shared experiences to build community and ensure that our classroom is a safe place for every student.
Arts strategies are taught in many forms, such as drama, dance, music, and visual art, which enhance the curriculum that we cover in first grade. Our school is a supportive and creative environment for all students!
My Project
We use our white boards daily for language arts, math, or both! As a result, our markers get a lot of use. New Expo markers will make white board time go much more smoothly, so students can get started on the activity instead of switching out their pens. The magnetic letters and cookie sheets will allow my students to participate in a variety of hands-on, word-building activities, making centers more exciting and engaging!
Our language arts center time serves as an opportunity for students to practice independence, self-regulation, and focus.
One of our centers involves using our Chromebooks. Our headphones, which have been used for many years, are well-loved and ready for retirement. New ones would make this center much more comfortable for students!
