Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a public, Title l, charter school located in a small, urban neighborhood in San Diego. Many of our students come from diverse backgrounds and include a high population of students from military families. Our school is a place where children are empowered to become the best learners they can be, with teachers and staff who make them feel safe, comfortable, and welcome each and every day.
Our school's goal is to develop civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient life-long learners.
Our fifth-grade students are curious, inquisitive, and have a thirst for knowledge that will continue to grow with your help and contributions!
My Project
Not all students learn the same way, so why should we expect them to sit the same as well? Students can get tired of sitting in the same plastic chair all day long, so these options allow students to choose between a few seating options within the classroom. Students love variety and they will help them sit actively and attentively. With the help of these floor seats and bouncy bands, I would be able to offer my students a variety of seating options based on their needs. When students are able to sit in comfortable, flexible seating options, it greatly enhances their focus. These flexible seating options will not only be an amazing addition for this school year, but for many years to come as well!
Your generous donation to our project will improve our classroom by providing us with resources to help us learn and work more effectively!
Students also need fraction manipulatives to help them during math throughout the year. These resources will allow students to play, explore, and learn. Our students will use these materials to explore fractions, decimals in a hands-on learning environment. These math resources will be used during whole group lessons, small group lessons, independently, and during math centers throughout the year.
