My Project

With the 2022 school year fast approaching its end, it's time to start planning for next year! With the release of A Thousand Steps Into the Night, I hope to change up my curriculum with a book steeped in Asian mythology and lore, set in a fantasy setting written by an exciting new voice in YA literature.

Books let readers escape to new worlds and new lives.

This, after COVID, is needed more than ever. With the addition of this fantasy book, and shortly after Asian culture came under fire, I hope to truly engage my students in a new culture.

With Sylvia Earle's book, I hope to engage my new Marine Biology class in a way that is not hard science. If I can get this generation to care about our oceans, truly the back yard of Hawai'i, I believe that we can make a significant positive change.
