My students are enthusiastic and engaged learners. This is a sub-separate specialized classroom that works with students diagnosed with autism. The school is in a large inner city with limited resources. These students not only have diverse academic and social needs, but many come from lower-income households.
One-half of my students are English Language Learners, and all have significant special needs.
My students are enthusiastic learners who all carry a diagnosis of autism. These students are in grades 2/3/4. These amazing students love to learn but need engaging hands-on materials to do so. Things like science kits to do explorations, journals to write in that have prompts to help guide their thinking, feelings journals to learn ways to manage emotions, photo cards to elicit language, sequencing activities to help understand order of events, feeling crafts to identify emotions and what happened cards to work on comprehension skills. These materials will be used during remote and face-to-face learning.
