My Project

The students in my class are motivated, hard-working kids who enjoy solving tough problems and expressing themselves creatively.

My students love using technology in artistic ways!

One project they're working on is using 3D printers to design their own board games that are both fun to play and also informative about the voyages of people like James Cook and Sebastian Vizcaino. Soon they'll be using Adobe Creative Cloud to create their own original illustrations for the history eBooks they're going to write after researching the impact of California's Spanish mission era on indigenous peoples. Later in the year they'll use computer coding to make their very own web-based video games that can actually be played by anyone with an internet connection!

In order to be able to support my students as they work on these artistic digital projects, I'd like to offer them a set of computer mouse devices and headphones. Right now they're using the track pads on their laptops but it's very hard for them to precisely control the cursor that way. A computer mouse is will make the design process much easier for them. The headphones will also allow them to hear the music they compose in Garage Band for their stop motion animation videos without disturbing others in the classroom.
