My Students

As first graders my students come to me with a willingness to learn and a wanting to explore the world around them. They are full of joy, laughter, intrigue, and their own unique personalities. These kids love to come to school and want to learn in the most hands on way that is possible. They love to move and learn about each other and other parts of the world.

They may be little but they are filled with emotions and confidence that can leave you amused and astonished all at once.

They can be silly and serious, but fill up the classroom in the best way possible. Each of them provides something new and different into our little classroom family. They love to be helpful with me and most importantly with each other.

They are smart and creative in different ways and can shock you in an instant. Each one of them is filled with dreams and stories that can tell you just who they are in a matter of minutes. They will surprise you in more ways than one and will definitely keep you on your toes.

My Project

From the first day of school these supplies will help create a warm and organized environment for all of my students. The crayons will help my students add life and detail into their pictures. When we write, students are always asked to include as many details as possible into their sentences and on top of that they need a picture that matches the words. Those pictures will only be enhanced through coloring, not to mention the skin tone crayons will give students of any background the ability to see themselves represented in their own drawings.

As new first graders we must also learn responsibility by being able to take care of our things and having just the right place to put them.

The pencil boxes and folders will helps keep up organized with our supplies and give students the ability to learn about ownership over their things. They will about keeping their stuff safe and in order and how that will help foster their education. The smaller pouches will help us keep our Eagles Chips in a safe place. We will know exactly where to put our hard earned Eagle Chips and have them ready for when it is time to shop at our weekly Eagle Store. Our folders will help keep our desks tidy and make easier to locate work that we haven't finished.

We can't wait to fill those boxes up with all the tools that will help us be successful in first grade. Everything from pencils, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, and erasers. Having their own supplies teaches them how to be responsible and also gives all students from different backgrounds the chance to start the year off with the same materials as their peers.
