My Students

Our students are advantaged because they speak two languages. Speaking two languages can sometimes make learning the nuances of English a little tougher. These students are lucky because they get to enjoy instruction from two or more teachers. And we teachers are lucky that we get to learn so much from these children.

English Learners are intelligent, hard-working, well mannered champions of language.

They are the reason I love my job, and enjoy teaching. Help me make it fun, please.

My Project

This year our school acquired 30 new English Learners bringing out total population up to nearly 100 students. We were able to hire a new assistant who is passionate about teaching our amazing students. However, we need more resources to reach all of our learners. We have many applications we use to target specific skills but our iPad can only be in one place at a time. Another iPad would help us be able to reach more learners during our limited time with them. Additionally, these language games from Lakeshore will help make the learning hands on. The bright, colorful resources were engineered with little learners in mind. They are built to last and help our students achieve their language acquisition goals.
