This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in a Title I school so funding is not available as it should be. My students never complain about the things that are necessary but are not available to them. Technology is becoming more advanced and not having access to it is putting my students at a disadvantage. We have three computers in a classroom of 28 students. A lot of my students have never been outside of the community due to financial issues within their families. I want to expose them to different aspects of life.
My Project
Getting tablets and a printer will allow my students to do assessments, projects, and research. The more tools they have available the easier it is for them to select. We would not have to wait for the laptop cart to come around to us. It will help tremendously because right now I have three desktops with 27 students. Three different periods. I am new to teacher and just want to make sure my students have the same access to resources that other students have. Education is not just about academics it is about e plotting and learning how to become productive citizens in this world.
