My Students
We have amazing third graders which is a total blessing for our school. My students come from a Title I school where over 80% of the students are on free and reduced-price lunch, and for many of them English is not their first language, Spanish is. Many of them have experienced having difficulty coming to school as a result of transportation or trauma experiences going on in their lives. However, many of them have the motivation to want to learn but just like in the classroom lack resources of getting additional educational experiences in and out of the classroom.
Our students reflect who we are as human beings and continuously inspire to be.
They are motivated, encouraged, and amazing human beings. They are well-mannered with all staff around the school and their positive actions, interactions, and collaborations among their peers and it is continuously outstanding to watch which is the reason we enjoy what we do. Our students want to be the best and are always ready to set goals and expectations high and achieve them.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I am always striving to create for my kiddos. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy; I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. The goal is to continue their love of reading by having a real library in our room.
