My students need a special place to sit while I am conducting whole group lessons, whole group reading, and a place for them to sit during independent reading.

My Students

Imagine the faces of first graders when they walk into school! Some of them a little nervous, others excited to start a new school year! Then they see the beautiful carpet in the front of the room. They will each get their own spot!

This will be my very first classroom!

My students come from very supportive families and I want to continue that support within the classroom. I feel as if them sitting on tile floor will not be supporting their learning. They need a safe place to sit while getting whole group instruction, independent reading, and small group activities.

My Project

I am requesting a seating carpet. We spending a lot of time on the carpet in first grade between whole group instruction, independent reading, and calendar time. This will give each student their own special place to sit on the rug, and will help them to better focus during whole group lessons.

This beautiful carpet will be used year after year for my students.

Each new school year will be new smiling faces and they will each get their own special place on the carpet! A carpet like this will be a beloved and valuable tool. It will help in classroom management and give each student their own special place.
