This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are inquisitive, caring and energetic second grade scholars! They attend a public Title 1 School that is classified as a CEP school where 100% of our students recieve free breakfast and lunch daily. My students come from a diverse background of military, nonmilitary and lower socioeconomic homes. While my students face many challenges inside and outside of the classroom, learning and coming to school is a safe place for my students. As their new teacher for the 2020 school year my goal is to continue building a relationship with them and their families to ensure they have the best supports in place to be successful!
My second grade scholars are truly amazing, lovers of books, reading and science.
I am looking forward to an amazing five months with them and seeing how far I can move, challenge and motivate my students to be their best! Thank you for helping me to support my students!
My Project
I'm excited to begin my teaching journey with my second grade scholars. In order to create a safe learning environment, I first must have the basics to keep a clean, safe and germ free classroom. I'm excited to create an amazing learning environment for my second grade scholars but I'm starting from a blank slate.
I could use some markers, lysol, clorox wipes, germx and kleenex to help create a clean classroom to fight colds and germs.
Sadly, I'm starting from a blank slate and do not have any items for my students to use since the previous teacher took everything. These supplies that I am requesting will greatly help to increase engagement and cleanliness, afterall what child can learn in a dirty germy classroom.
Having these essential supplies will greatly help me create a dynamic learning environment where my second grade scholars can truly thrive, learn and grow! I am excited to begin my Donors Choose journey and I appreciate any and all support! Thank you for helping me begin my teaching journey!
