My students need new tables to enhance their learning environment. These tables are used daily for meals, art activities, learning centers and small group projects.
Our students come from various backgrounds and situations. All of the families that we serve are under 100% of the federal poverty guidelines. Several of our students are being raised by someone other than their birth parents; grandparents, great grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc. Our number 1 goal in our program is to make each child feel safe and loved while they are in our care. This is so important because so many of our students come from unstable homes and/or unsafe conditions.
We strive to give our students the best environment for learning that we can.
With being a federally funded program we have limited funds to use as we plan different lessons and activities. We want to provide our students with challenging, but fun activities that promote their learning and keep them excited about education. Our students are very resilient and they strive to do their best each and every day that they come to school!
My Project
Having new tables in our classroom will provide my students with a clean, fresh working environment. Students will not only eat breakfast, lunch and snack at these tables, but they will also do art projects, read stories, play learning centers, and do small group activities here! Having new tables is more than just getting new pieces of furniture. For our students, it would mean that they have an enhanced sense of pride and ambition when they come into our room. These tables would show our students and parents that they are worthy of nice materials and that their needs matter!
