This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into my classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I teach at a Title I school in New York where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students receive backpacks with supplies at the beginning of the school year, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families.

Our school serves students in pre-K through fifth grades and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment.

Our goal is to prepare our students for success in middle school, high school, and college. However, there are times when we do not have the supplies we need.

My Project

After a challenging year and half, I am seeking new supplies for my students this upcoming school year. Since some students were learning at home and some in school, essential supplies were needed in abundance last year, causing a serious decrease in what I have left for this approaching school year. I am asking for donations for Post-It notes, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, tape, and markers because we are all out and I know that it is important for my 5th graders to have new supplies that they can start a brand new year off with. Also, since health and wellness are of the utmost importance, I am requesting paper towels, hand sanitizer/soap, and tissues to ensure the safety of ALL my students. We really appreciate any donation! Your kindness does not go unrecognized. Thank you!
