Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Someone once said, "Let us explore the world and create some wonderful things while you are exploring."
My goal this school year is to give my students lots of opportunities to explore and create wonderful things.
The kids at our school are kindergarten through fifth-grade students, and most of these students are English Language Learners. All of our students are enthusiastic learners who, regardless of the obstacles they may face at home, come to school with a thirst for knowledge and the urge to try and experience new things every day.
My Project
My students are lacking the resources they need in order to be successful. This is due in part to their families' financial struggles; they do not have access to what they need to organize their materials to use them properly. These materials will make a difference in the learning of my students because the supplies will help them become better organized. For example, post-it notes so they can have separate ones for different subjects. Post-it notes are a staple in my classroom. Students tab main ideas in novels and utilize post-its as they take notes. Also, many of these students have run out of or lost their pens and pencils at this point in the year, so a new supply will be extremely useful to them.
