Our students come from a large urban area in Connecticut, and are an extremely diverse population of students, with families from countries around the globe. Many of our students are English Language Learners for whom English is a second language, and over half of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
Our students have backgrounds from approximately 40 different countries around the world.
We are a fantastic mixture of cultures and backgrounds! Art is a booming and vital part of our school as well as our community.
We are running very low on art supplies and our school's current budget does not allow for replenishment. Getting funded helps with multiple projects for all of our students. As a teacher and an artist, one of my favorite things to see is students engaged in their artwork. My goal is to help them learn how to think outside the box and problem solve in a creative manner.
With your help, a little bit will go a long way!
These supplies will help my 6th, 7th, and 8th graders finish their sketchbooks, landscape paintings, and observational drawings projects. The sketchbooks are used in school and at home throughout the entire year.
