My students are rock stars! They work very hard on their social skills, sensory issues and life skills everyday. We have some special needs in our classroom that require us to be creative about how we educate.
In order to prepare our students for their lives, we try to integrate new experiences every week by going on a community outing to local stores.
We also integrate swimming into our week to work on water safety. We have some social skills times where we play games, make crafts and cook.
My Project
As you may imagine with a new school year comes new students. I have new Kindergarteners coming into my classroom with a new set of needs. I also have returning students who I would like to enhance their learning with some new materials.
I have some students who love to get the legos out and build.
I am hoping to inspire them to build with the new sets. I am also excited to be able to offer a robot for them to explore as well as a program to study cause and effect.
One of my new students loves superheroes. I am hoping to give him and my other students some new superheroes and blocks to build cities with. Perhaps for the superheroes to defend the cities!
