My Students

I teach music (band, strings, and choir) to students grades 4-8 at II K-8. We are an urban public school and a lottery school so I teach students from all different neighborhoods in Columbus and from all different social economic backgrounds.

I love teaching here, and for a small school, I have a large program filled with dedicated and talented musicians.

We perform several concerts times a year and attend many area festivals. II is full of wonderful musicians!

My Project

We are in desperate need of some new stands for our program! Our stands have become worn and are becoming harder to fix. Also, our program is growing and we need more stands for the growing number of students we have participating in our strings and band program.

New stands will make rehearsing with my students much more efficient.

With the addition of new stands, we will be able to rehearse in small sectionals (groups). Currently, we do not have enough stands for the percussion section to rehearse efficiently, and the addition of new stands means that they can move from their different instruments without having to move a stand.
