My High School Choir has made huge progress over the last few years, and especially has pushed themselves to the limits learning music this year. We have worked hard to master basic techniques as well as tackle more complex music with every performance.
A normal day in my high school choir will include learning new music, learning how to read music, and pushing ourselves to become more well-rounded musicians that can perform a wide array of different styles of music.
Our goal is to continue creating music every day to keep improving!
My Project
My choir is ready to take the next step in performance and be heard more clearly in our gym at concerts as well as feature more soloists at concerts. With our current set-up, my students really struggle to hear themselves over the gym's loud-speaker system, which means soloists often do not perform well during concerts - not because they are not ready, but because they cannot hear themselves along with the ensemble. We are also looking to create a better controlled sound system that is specifically created to amplify a choir in a large gym. This new system will help instill confidence for our performers during concerts so we can continue growing as musicians.
My ensembles are filled with hard-working and talented individuals, and I want to continue to support their creativity.
Music is a life-long skill, and a successful middle school and high school experience will help show my students how important music can be in their life, both in and out of school, by making a positive impact in each student's life; this project will help create a great amplified sound at concerts and allow our ensemble to give their best performance every time in our gym.
