Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students enjoy reading new genres of plays and analyzing new acting styles for the characters within the play. Students in our program are encouraged to read and analyze different genres of plays. Our students need a variety of scripts to read for college preparation.
Our students are extremely passionate about performing arts and commit after school and weekends to make our program great.
They often audition for community theater productions and use our script library for research. Our students also study technical design and costume design.
My Project
My students constantly strive to learn about new playwrights and to study new characters. These new plays will open their minds to modern characters and ideas.
My upcoming seniors will begin searching for new monologues in August for college auditions.
The art carts will allow me to share art supplies for design classes. We are striving to create many collaborative assignments for our technical theatre and drama classes. These carts will allow us to move supplies from one classroom to another or to the scene shop. We try to supply all of the supplies for projects so that our students will not need to purchase materials for projects.
