Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in Farmington, UT. It holds a Spanish Immersion Program in which the students have the chance to learn Spanish as a second language and also some content subjects through this second language, such as Science. Families are supportive, and they are very involved in students' education!

My students are very active, and they like different choices of activities and spaces at the time of working individually, in small groups, and collaboratively.

They are very motivated by new things, and they love Spanish and Science. We love to discover new things together every day!

My Project

Last year we adopted a new science curriculum with new standards. We need to learn about organisms functioning in their environment, energy transfer, wave patterns and patterns in the sky.

My students learn science in Spanish, which requires a lot of materials and visuals to be able to reach all learners.

For example: the electric circuits will be used to learn about energy transfer. The different sized balls will be used to learn about collision and fail investigations by changing one variance. And flashlights will be used to learn about light as an energy source.

This materials will help me better teach and will help students learn the content in a nice and amusing way.
