Our school community is comprised of students from all walks of life. Out of the more than 2000 students, I have 150 students who have bought in to what we're doing in our classroom on a daily basis. These students WANT to learn, desire to meet expectations, and give their best on a daily basis.
The common denominator for all of us is that we find ourselves in the same building, in the same room and are choosing each day to Rise and Grind!
We have made a commitment individually and collectively that we are going to give our best efforts each day and not stop until we get the results we desire! In order to get those results, there are items we need for our classroom to be at our prime!
My Project
Before students can be successful in the classrooms, we have to make sure each student is given equal access to the supplies they need. Having supplies on hand for my students will eliminate a disparity and show them right away that there are no excuses for not being prepared!
With this project funded, students will have the basic supplies for the classroom and supplies to keep them organized--all necessities for a solid start to a new year!
For example, the colored pencils and highlighters will be used often to help build strong readers as we closely analyze reading materials, the file folders will be one way to hold students accountable for their district diagnostics as we use these to track progress, the pens and paper take out the excuse of "I don't have something to write with," these supplies are the foundation for the close analysis we'll do and the much-needed organizational skills that all high school students need to implement!
