Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class and I will move together from 2nd grade to 3rd and I am excited to watch these kiddos grow another year.
They are learning Spanish while still improving their English language. Our little school is a one-way immersion program where they learn Spanish as their second language. My students' Spanish is a heritage language, a language spoken by grandparents or great-grandparents.
My little learners are a rambunctious group of curious, hardworking individuals. They have so much energy. My little loves come to school every day and share their stories. Oh, boy, the stories!
My kids, like all students, deserve to have the best to learn. If my kids are excited about the learning that happens every day, it's because I match that enthusiasm for learning and teaching. Please support my classroom and the vision I have for them.
My Project
This year I am so excited to be able to loop, continue with the same class as last year. We were very efficient and we still have supplies from 2nd grade. Some items, of course, need replenishing.
Some of the items that are needed are new composition notebooks, a classroom set of crayons, pencil pouches, and smelly stickers.
Glue sticks and erasers are of course treasures in our classroom and those items need replenishing half-way through the year.
Last year, I found that smelly stickers were a great motivator for my students. They loved the stickers on all assignments. Peppermint candies are used in my classroom for tummy aches and when students have a cold. The diffuser is used with peppermint oil and helps students calm and focus on work.
