My students need pencil boxes, pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, dry erase pockets, whiteboard dry erasers, puck lights, batteries, magnet hooks, lanyards, and color coding labels to be well-prepared for the new school year.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school, located in Chicago's north side, has a 92% Hispanic population. Nearly all of our students come from low-income households. Despite this, they come to school with smiles on their faces, eager to learn something new.
My kindergarten students deserve the opportunity to receive the best education they can get in order to thrive throughout their lives.
While our school provides as much as it possibly can in order to ensure that students are successful, our district budget often limits what schools can provide.
My Project
The materials and supplies I am requesting will stay at school so my students never have to worry about forgetting something important at home. The pencil boxes I am requesting are large and sturdy enough for them to store the pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, and erasers they will need throughout the day. The lights and batteries will be used to keep a visual reminder of the voice level they should be using during each activity. In order to label their supplies, they will need color-coded labels.
Offering my kindergarten students options in the classroom encourages autonomy and learning.
Having a variety of resources available in the classroom will facilitate my students' writing about experiences, stories, people, and events, preparing them for future academic success.
