We need to focus on LEARNING, rather than the need for supplies!
I serve twenty-two, first grade students who live in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
There is an equal mix of boys to girls, who love to read and be read to. They are bright, energetic, and eager learners, who are at a critical stage in the learning process. They are learning to READ!!
My Project
The resources I'm requesting are the basic writing supplies including pencils, crayons, pencil boxes, and erasers. These materials will be distributed to each student, allowing for readily accessible materials to be at their fingertips when needed. In addition, I'm requesting chart tablets and pads to use as a tool to draw attention to specific content, to include reading, math, and science. This will provide a visual for the visual learner.
Students should have readily available materials for daily use.
Their focus should be on Learning, rather than what they don't have or what they need. Help make this possible for my students.
