My district serves a number of low-income and at-risk inner-city students. The children view school as their safe place. Somewhere they can find structure and always a teacher with a smiling face. They already enjoy the comfort of being at school, now it's my job to teach them the importance of learning!
I will be teaching a new grade level next year, and I want to be as prepared as possible!
I am looking forward to meeting my future students!
My Project
I made the mistake of going into the educational stores over the summer and finding TONS of great resources that I HAD TO HAVE! So I'm hopeful for the opportunity to get to use them in my room this year with your help!
I will be teaching 3rd grade grammar and writing this year, and OH BOY am I excited.
The many resource books that I have selected, I believe will be an easy way to implement daily practice without the moans and groans.
I used interactive notebooks when I taught in 2nd grade and my kids LOVED getting to create their journals as "cheat sheets".
I also think the Draw Write Now program will be a way to encourage all students to want to research and write while adding some art to the mix.
