This will be my first year working with fourth grade students. I am starting this year at a new school, in a new community. The students here come from various economic backgrounds, with some receiving free or reduced lunch prices. My students also have varying interests and levels of academics.
My students are eager to learn and to enjoy some great books.
Every day they come to class, no matter the location, and are excited for what is in store for them.
My Project
As this is my first year teaching fourth grade, I am in need of appropriate leveled books for my students. In order for my students to become better readers, I want my students to be excited about the literature choices in our classroom. Having these wonderful books will provide a choice for my students, as they offer a variety of interests and reading levels. The stories range from topics such as animals, sports, diversity, and inclusion. I am excited to be able to get these books into my classroom library and watch the magic of reading take place.
Along with amazing choices of books, I want to be able to have access to some amazing resources.
Teachers Pay Teachers is an online vendor where I can access educational resources created by teachers, for teachers. Since my school is utilizing a hybrid model this fall, having access to quality resources that can be used both in the classroom and remotely at home will be very beneficial.
