I have a wonderful motivated group of students. They really want to learn and are enjoying our brand new school. Our school has a high number of free/reduced lunch students because of the socioeconomic make up of the community. They don't have many opportunities outside of school to better themselves. I want to help them to be their best self. The better we do in the classroom, the better their future will be. With technology being a huge part of our world, we need them to be successful in their academics as well as with technology. The problem is that being a brand new school, funding is very low at the current time.
These students will be a great influence on our future.
In order for them to keep up in this world, they need the knowledge and technology to do so. Technology is so expensive, and our school system is suffering due to the economy. Sometimes the financial responsibilities of supplying the necessary tools for learning falls upon the teachers. This can become very expensive. Programs such as this one are a blessing.
My Project
We all love new things. Well, we have a brand new school. The students are loving this new school. Everything smells and looks new. The students are truly taking ownership of being in a newly constructed school. These kids are so happy to be the first ones to attend this beautiful new facility. Wouldn't you?
But, with all our beautiful new surroundings, funding is low.
There are many things that are provided such as desks, copy machines, and other basic necessities. However, some of the things needed to teach and reach students are lacking. We are very much in need of a laptop and document camera in order to model skills for our students. Sometimes writing on a white board just isn't the best method of teaching. Sometimes we need to let students see certain documents or examples of certain skills and strategies. Projecting these things for students with the use of a laptop and document camera is very beneficial in helping to get students to learn. We need all the help we can get in reaching out students in today's society. These items would be extremely beneficial to our classroom.
